Pruning Your Trees and Shrubs

With the warmer weather, as strange as it is, there is a draw to get outside and work on your garden. For many, now is the time they want to start pruning their trees and shrubs. If you are eager to start chopping, hold off until the coldest part of winter has past. The best time to start pruning is after the freeze, but before the hearty spring growth starts.

When you start pruning remember to cut at an angle that mirrors the branch collar and to cut large branches in three parts. Remember to be smart about pruning and know when to bring in a professional. If you trees are near any power lines be sure to call in a pro.
