How to Survive When Remodeling Your Home



Remodeling your home can be a smart investment and can add value to your home, but going down that path can be more stressful then you imagined. Recently my parents began the long process of renovating their home and it has been through their experience that I've realized just how stressful the whole process can be.

Before you begin your remodel, it is important to do what you can to stay sane during the construction. First of all, do your homework. Make sure you hire a qualified professional by asking around to see who others have used in the past. Angie's List is great source for finding a respectable contractor or you can always check out the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) website to view a list of contractors in your area.

When deciding which contractor is the best is is wise to ask them what their schedule. This will give you an estimate on what needs to happen and when they are expected to be completed. In addition, here are 6 questions to ask before hiring a contractor.
