If your home's curb appeal makes a great first impression, everyone -- including potential buyers will want to see what's inside.
You may be doing the basics each week - mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, watering, and so on, but are you doing anything extra to add to the curb appeal? Here are a few extras to ensure a great first impression:
Clean Your Windows. Make your home sparkle and shine by cleaning the winter grime off your windows.
Mailbox Makeover. Your mailbox should compliment your home and express your personality. Paint the posts to match your home's exterior and surround it with beautiful flowers. Even if you don't want to plant flowers in the ground, find a cute container, fill it with flowers, and place it next to your mailbox.
Front Door. How long has it been since your front door was painted/stained? Maybe it's time for an updated color or just a fresh coat of paint.
Add a colorful wreath and welcome mat. If your front door is open (not enclosed by a patio/porch) think symmetry - it is pleasing to the eye to have symmetry and balance. For example, add a container of flowers/plants on each side of the door.
Garden Lights. Highlight your garden, paths, and trees with garden lights. Lights are a simple way to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all the warm summer nights.
Flowers/Containers. Whether you plant them in the ground or put them in containers or both, flowers are a simple way to add color to your home's exterior.
Replace Old Hardware. Are your outdoor lights, fixtures, railings, etc. looking dingy, rusty and worn? It may be time to replace them OR if possible give them a face-lift with some fresh paint.
